The London Rollergirls are holding a fundraiser party to help send our all-star team to the US next year! If you’ve been to one of our parties before, you know the drill; if not (and why not?) we’ll have bands, rollergirl DJs, a delicious bake sale, merch for sale, dancing and rollergirls aplenty!

Playing for us this time are the fabulous Squirrel Skin Slippers.

We’ll be hosting this event along with the very awesome Bulldog Gin - who will offer some fabulous cocktail promos. Event starts at 8:00 pm and our bit of the event will end around 9.30 but there’s a rock night on after which we hope everyone will stay on for with us. So come early to hang out with the London Rollergirls and help us raise some money for our future bout touring plans!

Drum roll please…

The London Rollergirls are pleased and proud to announce that on March 20th, 2010, we will be hosting none other than the Texas Rollergirls’ Hustlers!

The Texas Rollergirls are widely regarded as the godmothers of women’s flat track roller derby being the original league that got it all going back in 2002. The Hustlers feature several members of the fearsome Texecutioners, the TXRG all-star team (ranked #1 in the WFTDA South Central region and heading to Nationals in November as one of the top four seeds) as well as a couple of girls who have been playing derby right since the start. We’re incredibly proud and excited to host them in London, and we know this will be our toughest test yet.

More info to come soon regarding venue, ticket info and other exciting derby events happening that weekend, but for now, save the date… if you’re in the UK and you love derby, London is where you want to be that weekend.

We have grand plans for 2010. Oh yes we do. And the biggest and the grandest of those plans is to get our undefeated European Champion all-star team, London Brawling, over to the home of roller derby: the USA. We have a tour of the US East Coast planned in April, with some bouts and practices lined up against some great teams. This will be an amazing chance for us to learn and to improve our skills, and to prove ourselves against some really good, established derby teams.

But we need to get there. And you can help with that. We’re currently shortlisted in a British Airways competition to win our flights to New York, and we need votes to win!
