A DERBY WEDDING!

<  A DERBY WEDDING!

Derby Wedding – LRG Style.

When I say derby wedding, I don’t mean the Rollercon, marry she-who-will-bail-you-out-of-jail style derby wedding. I mean a proper wedding, you know, the sort with only two people. The happily ever after kind. Only not quite.

Last Saturday (23rd September 2007), out the back of the Hungerford Arms (okay, round the side where we used to have a courtyard to hang out in but the council came and took the wall away *shakes fist at council* IF you want to get technical), a rabble of Rollergirls stood witness as our latest guest, Naptown Roller Girls’ Red Rocket, unofficially tied the knot with long time beau Ben.

You may kiss the bride!

Performing the quickest nuptials I’ve ever seen was the LRG’s own Auntie Terror. Ordained by the Universal Life Church, and a first time celebrant, she did exceptionally well to deliver exactly the kind of ceremony they wanted (a quick one). Although not quite legally binding (paperwork, shmakerwork), the ceremony was beautiful *wipes tear* and we all went out afterwards to celebrate in true British style.

With beer and a curry.

Congratulations to the unofficial-newlyweds from all of us at LRG!

Now, does that make Paris your unofficial honeymoon?

Sweet! Big up yooz bitches. And lovely you were as well. As a recent LRG who’s gone through the whole bollocks herself, I’d heavily consider it. (As it stands though, I did the entire ceremony and reception with a torn-ACL, classic-style.) Derby? I fucking hope so.
Rock ‘n roll lovers are hot.
